Modular floating docks
A modular floating dock is a deck you grow from interlocking cubes instead of one welded frame. Each cube is a sealed HDPE box. Pin them edge to edge and the cubes are the dock — walkway, swim platform, or jet ski drive-on — in 0.5 m steps.
How the pins work
Every Aussie Cube has lugs on all four corners. Neighbours overlap. A mushroom centre pin drops through the stack and holds the joint. No bolts through the hull, no tools, no aluminium frame. Pull the pin later if you want a different shape. A pin spanner is handy once you are past a small square; it is not required.
The standard module is 500 × 500 × 400 mm, about 7 kg, roughly 350 kg of buoyancy per square metre of assembled deck. Four cubes = 1 m². See cube specs or buy the standard grey cube at $99.
Layouts that actually get used
- Walkway or jetty — a 1 m or 1.5 m strip out from the bank. Doubles (1000 × 500 mm) cut the number of joins on a long run.
- Swim platform — a square or rectangle off the end, deep enough to jump from. The 16-cube kit is 2 m × 2 m.
- Jet ski dock — standing cubes plus flooding entry rows so the ski rides on. Keep the dock about a metre longer than the ski. Details on jet ski docks.

Start small, add cubes later
Leave a free edge. Next season you pin on more cubes — extra width for chairs, a second ski, a storage cube. That is the point of a modular dock. If you already know the size, a kit is quicker than counting pins: 16 cubes $1,699, 32 cubes $3,199.
